Lagazuoi Tour: History, Culture and Nature of the Dolomites

Where fierce battles were fought between 1915 and 1917 between Austro-Hungarian imperial soldiers (Kaiserjäger) and Italian Alpine troops (Alpini), there is now one of the most impressive ski tours in the Dolomites. Special highlight: the ski run from Lagazuoi to Armentarola. For this ski tour you should plan about five to six hours.

Great War Tour – in the footsteps of the First World War

The centrepiece of this approximately 80 km long ski tour is Col di Lana, the mountain notorious for heavy battles during the First World War. In this stunning mountain landscape, you will encounter again and again the remnants of trenches, bivouacs and galleries cut in the rocks - which remind us how precious the peace is.

It is very important to start this tour early in the morning, it takes about seven to eight hours - yet every minute pays off!

Sellaronda, the famous Tour of the Four Passes in the Dolomites

No wonder, Sellaronda is the most famous ski tour in the Dolomites and overall in the Italian Alps. In just one day you can ride about 40 kilometres of ski runs without hitting twice the same slope - clockwise or counterclockwise, as you wish. The tour runs around the Sella Group and over four stunning mountain passes: the Campolongo Pass, the Pordoi Pass, the Sella Pass and the Gardena Pass.

The slopes are suitable for medium level skiers with pretty good physical conditions. Since the whole lap requires about six hours, we advise you to start early in the morning in order to fully enjoy this truly breath-taking ski tour in Alta Badia.
